Start notepad and create a new document
Copy and paste the red text below (on one single line, nothing before or after)
X5O!P%@AP[4\PZX54(P^)7CC)7}$EICAR-STANDARD-ANTIVIRUS-TEST-FILE!$H+H*
Save this file, doesn't matter where and save it as anything, for example - testmyAV.com, nastyvirus.zip, nod32FTW.com, festerrulez.txt
Sit back and watch the fun. If your anti-virus doesn't detect the file as infected, usually as the EICAR Test File, then it's a load of old rubbish
